House of Sarunds is urging retailers to plan ahead for Mother’s Day sales in order to capitalise on the seasonal opportunity that Mintel reports saw Brits spend half a billion pounds on gifting products last year.
According to research from Mintel, 60% of Brits spent money for Mother’s Day in 2015 and whilst almost one third (31%) of us bought cards, 29% bought flowers and 15% bought chocolate gifts.
Mother’s Day falls on 26 March in 2017 so stock should be on the shelves in February. if possible designate a ‘seasonal space’ so regular customers will come to know where to look for gifting lines.
Confectionery for Mother’s Day should have a broad appeal to meet all age ranges and demographics. We recommend stocking across all price points and budgets from pocket money purchases to premium lines and everything in between so that includes boxes of luxury chocolates through to novelty confectionery.
